The original Rock Against Drugs started as a press conference being held 10/31/97 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles by the Musicians' Assistance Program (MAP) and Partnership For A Drug-Free America (PFDA) promises to attract a bevy of music celebs - many of whom, like Hole diva Courtney Love and Troy Nowell have learned first-hand the high price of drug abuse. The noontime press conference launched a new anti-drug advertising campaign featuring such artists as Chuck D, Everclear, Lauryn Hill, Kiss, Scatman John and Troy Nowell.

The project consisted of several rock musicians, such as Ronnie James Dio, Craig Goldie, Jimmy Bain, Vinny Appice and Claude Schnell, who appeared in various commercials telling about drugs' hazards. Dio appeared in a commercial shown on both MTV US and MTV Europe.


Rock Against Drugs Scandinavia - Preventing drug use through rock music

Rock Against Drugs Scandinavia is a series of events organised by Lazze X events in their attempt to educate the general public about the negative effects of drug use.

When young people get together, unfortunately somebody often experiments with harmful substances. It happens everywhere around the world. And it is a problem. Because of this, Lazze X events tries very hard to inform people about the harmful effects of drugs and show that we are against drugs.

Since 2006, Lazze X events has clearly marked its position on drug use at our events.

Taking drugs is dangerous, anti-social and illegal. Drugs cause unpredictable behaviour that can ruin the event experience for others.

Drugs are illegal at all Lazze X events arrangements, as they are in the rest of Scandinavia.

If you see someone who is ill, depressed or afraid – and perhaps under the influence of drugs – please contact an event employee who will do everything in his/her power to help the person in question.
